New Year GiveAway

December 31st, 2008

Tawra Kellam at Living on a Dime has graciously offered her book, Dining on a Dime, as a great giveaway to kick the year off right. Living on a Dime is having a 50% off sale on all their books and 63% on sets.  Dining On A Dime has never been on sale for more than 25% off so this is a great deal.

I personally have three of the Living on a Dime books and cannot believe the amount of information packed into one book, especially for such a reasonable price.

So here’s the technical stuff.

The contest will run from January 1-7 and is open to United States residents only. Tawra will send the Dining on a Dime book directly to the winner.

Visit the Living on a Dime website at http://www.livingonadime.com/books/nys.html  and take a look at all of the money saving books offered, then come back here and post a comment about your favorite. One first comment entry per person.

Receive a second entry for writing a post on your blog and  include a direct link back to this post, then come back here to let me know by leaving the link in another comment.

You can get a third entry by posting the following widget into the sidebar of your blog.

Hurry! The week will be over before you know it!

Penny Pinchin’ Mama sounds great to me. I am expecting my 2nd child in May and will quit work for a little while so Penny Pinchin’ will be the key for me!

Wow! I’d never heard about these books before– they are great! I couldn’t make up my mind, I like the Dining on a Dime and the Dig Out of Debt the most. But then again, I also like the Penny-Pinching Mama!

Great giveaway. I usually don’t join contests like this (cuz I never ever win), but the books look so good I thought I’d give it a try.

I could really benefit from Dining on a Dime. I love to cook, but cooking inexpensively for my meat and potatoes loving, no soup eating, green vegetable fearing husband is a bit of a challenge!

Thanks for visiting my blog! The Penny-Pinching books ALL look wonderful. Having raised 6 children and housing various other family members over the years on just my husbands wages I fully know and respect living on a dime. If I were to win this I would read it cover to cover then pass it on to my daughter-in-law, who already does a wonderful job, in hopes that it could help her in raising their growing family.

Mrs. M Good to see you! I have six of Tawra’s eBooks and have enjoyed all of them. I am thinking that the Dining on a Dime will be my next purchase, along with the other two offered on her sale page. GREAT bargain.

CindyDianne-I know what you mean about family members’ food preferences. Once, just once, I mentioned that I thought we should become vegetarians and Hais, NOT DH, had a cow! She told me that we had to wait until she was away at college before we started THAT “nonsense”…haha. We almost always have meat at our meals, but sometimes the serving is much less that normal. Just the other day, I added some left over bits of a pork roast (of my localvore fresh hog butchered this past year) to some butter beans. I was very pleasantly surprised when Hais actually enjoyed eating the beans (not normally a bean eater).

Moonshadow-Thanks for coming in for a visit. I get by your place often, but I am not the best at leaving comments. That comes from my own self-esteem issues…worried about what others will think about what I say on their blog. Once thing is for certain though, that I always leave your place with a smile on my face and a song in my head/heart…sometimes on my lips…”I’m being followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow.” Brings back fond memories of childhood.

Currently, we are living on DH’s wages and I neeeeeed to do a better job of cutting back. I think passing this kind of information on to the next generation is very important. My own mother and grandmother did not do a very good job of passing it on…or maybe it was the student…ME..who didn’t do a very good job of learning…before they both passed on. Nevertheless, Hais and J-Mo will have cookbooks and binders filled with our favorite recipes when I leave this earth.

Thank you all for your entries.
