Tears for Galveston

September 14th, 2008

I was looking through photos on my hard drive today and tears came to me when I found these photos of my two trips to Galveston last year. I love old architecture. During my trip in August with DD1 we were able to spend some time downtown after our cruise and I took many photos of the lovely buildings along Strand Street. One photo is taken looking from our stateroom on the Carnvial Conquest during embarkation of the March cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel with DH and DD2.

How a person recooperates from such devastation is mind boggling and to think that a good portion of it is not covered by insurance.

This is a youtube video that we made of embarkation day. There are a ton of photos of our stateroom, because I had several requests asking what that particular room looked like…but there are some photos of the city toward the end.
